About CASD

Clay Artists of San Diego

Clay Artists of San Diego (CASD) is an organization open to all who share an interest in ceramics. This group includes professional potters, clay artists, sculptors working in clay and mixed media, as well as students. We also welcome friends of clay: those individuals, collectors and patrons interested in supporting the future of ceramics in San Diego County.

Clay Artists of San Diego began as a group called the Ceramic Artists of San Diego, which was organized in 1980. In 2006, we became a certified 501(c) 3 non-profit public benefit corporation in the State of California. We publish an informative newsletter subscribed to by more than 150 professional clay artists and students from throughout San Diego County and beyond.

Our mission is to promote and enhance public appreciation of fine ceramic art and artists in San Diego. We offer educational workshops, informative general meetings, and provide local clay resource information. We also host fun social activities that are related to clay including an annual Desert Burn Pit Firing, Mudfest Clay Olympics, and a Pizza Party.

If you wish to become part of our network of interested clay enthusiasts, please join us by filling out our Membership Form.
