Bill Wilkey Workshop: Thrown and Altered, with Soda Firing

  • CASD Members $225, Non-members $260
    March 10-13; includes participating in the soda firing; limited to 10 participants with 8-10 pieces each
  • CASD Members $60, Non-members $75
    March 11-12; demos only, no firing

Join us for either the full 4 day demonstrations with soda firing, or for the 2 day demonstration only.

Demonstrations will include throwing and altering pottery while creating divided and textured surfaces in a way that highlights the geometry of the form. Topics will include wheel throwing, hand building, lids, handles, rasping and texturing.

Bill Wilkey lives in Montana and is currently a long term resident and Lincoln Fellow at the Archie Bray Foundation. He received his BFA from East Tenneesee State University and an MFA from University of Missouri-Columbia. He has been featured as one of Ceramics Monthly’s 2014 Emerging Artists and on the cover of Pottery Making Illustrated. Bill has exhibited nationally, including NCECA’s national juried students exhibition, Strictly Functional Pottery,The Functional Ceramic Invitational and Trax Gallery.
